Hope everyone sets their line ups for Turkey Day! Lots of rumors and things going on in NEOFFL. Check out Facebook for reference. We shall see what the out come. But sources say they are unhappy on both ends lack of involvement in league activity but also being busy and just a fantasy league. What say you do we have the shifting of franchises and move them to cities they are wanted. But this post was just to let the league know be thankful and appreciative of more then just football. Family, Friends, food, oh and the NEOFFL!

Who is your Suprise Franchise

Out of all of the teams this year which one stands out the most to you? I have to go with the franchise Justwin for me. In the beginning I had them pegged to have a god awful season but they have put together a decent year racking up wins this season. Could they possibly suprise the league and make for the playoffs? We shall see what the character of their team is in the weeks to come. Best of luck to all teams.

This week we get to see a replay of last seasons Super Bowl. The Beavers head into the Carribean and visit the Loose Cannons at Captain Morgan Field. Which team prevails from this great matchup between the idlers and traders.

Week 11 Preview

Week 11 is here. Down the last leg of the season. This week can open up the lead for some teams and close the door for others. As for which games this week I'm taking I have to go with one game. This week there is a huge matchup. Boondock Saints v Hoyer Horses. I'm saying a tie 106.20.....haha I gotta go with Peyton Manning. But in all honesty Cams Cats v Road Warriors is also a tough matchup.

Big Week

Philly Defense

Has more points in one week than McCoy has all year. Well not really but my season has been a disgrace. Avg 90 points a week and yet teams that can avg 70pts have better record. Karma and luck have a lot to play in this. I just need to play teams at the right time rather then the wrong place wrong time. So discouraging. So disappointing.  

First week of inter conference play

Idlers 7-5 Traders 

Looks to me the first batch of game goes to the Idlers. I am placing these predictions Sunday at 5:45 so I'll update if needed but I would say Idlers got the best with a 7-5 record against the Traders. Always a fun weeks to come, we get to see which conference pulls ahead in the regular season.

Mid season Review:

We have reached the middle of the year ladies and gentleman. So far our division leaders on each side are RSMP, Boondock Saints, Wolverines, Montee Peyton, Hoyer Horses, Road Warriors, Beavers and Cheeseheads. There is one team not mentioned that I'm sure everyone is happy about. Defending Champion Loose Cannons. This year has  not been good for the 3-6 Cannons. They will look for a better second half of the season to take over their Division. Cams cats has looked great, Dukes and Lacy also performing nicely. Surprising teams Hoodlums and Justwin. RSMP is lucky he won against Sleeping Giants this past week because he wouldn't have made this list if it wasn't for being a slim division leader at this point. His team is lucky not good. Scores 52 points and wins, sorry Giants but that week you should have taken from RSMP. Annihilators, Aardvarks and Outlaws still in the hunt even with losing records. Guidos being in the same division as Boondock Saints can hope for a Wild Card slot but that's going to take some wins in bunches for the rest of the season. Top Dogs busted out in week 9 with their first win of the season. Lots of weeks left in the season for all of this to change, good and bad.

This season has beat me up. Mentally and emotionally. I've racked up countless hours of studing calculating and crunching the scenarios. Possible out comes, projects, drafting early drafting late, to trade or not to hold this player ect. You get the point. My record is hurting right now but the team is stacked. They need to play like they are supposed to. After a great season and playoffs I might have over thought my team. But hey, the one truth I have learned out of all of this just like the guys in the mags or on the web predicting the statistics and possible season performers and rankings are wrong at times and so am I. You can't predict FFL lots of Talent/Risk-Reward/Cost of Players/Luck/more luck all mixed into one. But there have been some suprised and great picks and keeps this year.  Hopefully the rest of the season we hear some cannons going off. It's been too long since we have gotten to celebrate with a bottle o rum.

So far I would have to give it to the idlers for having some pretty competitive teams but as far as knock out punches the traders have em. It is going to be a fun ride to see which conference can reign supreme this season.

Week 7 Preview

A lot of football left boys and girls. But so far my teams that have put up and made us shut up. Wolverines is off to a great start behind a stacked line up and DMurray. Cheeseheads stacking up wins as well, they made a move at the draft and have had a good season so far. 

Hoyer Horses and Dukes will battle for the division here on out. Aces Wild, RSMP have to show us what they are made of to win out their divisions. Other teams looking great Boonies, Cams Cats, Beavers and Peyton. 

I feel it has to be said Loose Cannons fall to 2-4 still in hunt for Division lead but the next weeks ahead will show us if they can turn the ship around or go down sinking on the backs of the best team on paper.

Is he allowed to be on the IR? Just looked at bylaws and saw that if a player is suspended he's not allowed to be on the IR. Just wanted to clarify the ruling on this matter?

Not bad boys. Calvin Johnson although not performing and injured is the top WR. Dez matches with him being a top 5 WR then the other players match up. I feel if cj2k can bounce back outlaws got a slightly better deal but as of now they needed some roster depth and added it in this trade. But the saints were able to add to a good roster with Dez and Hopkins. We shall see what happens later this season. 

Surprise Surprise.

Who is your surprise franchise so far. Mine is Dukes. I had a feeling going into this season they would compete and put forth a tough season but they are putting together a great beginning to this season. Also Wolverines they were my pick to be a great team in the Traders but they too are killing it so far. But I ask you readers. Who is your pick of the litter.

Smith for Smith both threats in Baltimore offense.  Spiller and Jennings also equal value. I feel Jennings has a slight upside being in a horrible Giants offense.

Boonies and Millrats made a fair deal. Harvin if used correctly could be big for MIllrats. Garçon is a more consistent option for Boonies and the Redskins offense.

Week 5 is here! This week both games of the week come from the Idlers Conference. The honorable mention is a Traders match up. Again I say it anything is possible it's fantasy football. I guess that means the players atop the pre-season rankings could finally perform like they should. New rankings will be released as well just been a little busy this week they will be out before Sunday kickoff. But I have to say sorry Griffs you won't be at the top of the Idlers no matter what MyFantasyLeague suggests. Good luck to all owners this week. Veteran or Rookie?

Proven Talent or Long term Possibility.

When reading that what comes to mind? I should say first that if you are an occasional fantasy footballer this league is not for you, setting your line up week 1 then forgetting about it til week 6 means this league is not for you. I believe that the first 3 years  of ownership your in build mode. Have to do research and find the studs and rookies all three years. Once you pass this point your now ready to roll and develope a strategy that works for your liking. But through these years it leads back to my original question. Do you go for a rookie or a veteran. Scenario: the draft is 6 rounds deep you kept 6 so you have snagged 4 solid picks. Your next pick is probably a backup or a rookie. What do you do? Only reason I ask, is your first reaction to build for the future or try to get that mid-level RB2, WR2? I myself always when having starters for the season shoot for the moon with rooks where ever my pick falls. Some will snag the vets there to add that 8-10pt avg.

What to do?  I just like to hear your take on the question. Proven Talent or Long term Possibility?

What's up with Shady McCoy and others?

It's crazy this season you would say Charles, AP and McCoy were consensus 1-3 no specific order. Before tonight all three were performing sub par. We all know that AP won't be back but can McCoy and Charles put up expected numbers? 

Even wide receivers have been touched by the already crazy 2014 season. But this is fantasy football and nothing is a guarantee at any position. Will DemorDemarius bounce back?

			Boondock Saints gave up Cruz, Victor NYG WR R.S.M.P. gave up Year 2015 Round 7 Draft Pick from Cams Cats

In my opinion Cruz should be a top 10-20 WR but the way the giants have been playing he has decreased in value. It's a win win for both parties. If Cruz makes a splash this year RSMP is able to get a solid WR and Boondock Saints add a 7th for next year. Remember who I took in the 6th and 7th rounds respectively. Nelson and Gronk. There are plenty of players out there that he can add talent without being too upset about Cruz. But overall I would say RSMP upgraded by adding Cruz. But we shall see how it plays out.

I feel it was a fair deal some what but that's if spiller can ever become that back we know he can be and Outlaws needs a RB. Hopkins with a QB is going to be a top 15 WR. Harvin a high risk high reward and Gronk healthy is a beast.

I know it's like I pulled a Marv from Home Alone. I have neglected posting and just been super busy lately. But I will be back on posting regularly to the few that do check out the NEOFFL Blog.

Check your transactions owners. Some trades went down. Well just say boondocks upgraded. Think I need to start a 1800dontaccept hotline for people thinking of trading. But sign it is their franchise so can't really say anything but good luck.

24 in 30. Loose Cannons

They are who we thought they were!!!!






Doug here, aka Hoyer Horses (Bag of Weeden). Time to look at Loose Cannons. Well, it has to be said, he was last years champion. Finishing at 13 - 4 and winning the whole thing. He has managed to keep key players while making epic trades to boost his already legendary status. I mean, look at this team: Brees, McCoy, TRich, DThomas, AJ Green, Gordon, and Graham. This team speaks for itself. Top 3 QB, possible #1 RB, project in TRich, 2 of the top 3 WR's, #1 TE, and Gordon who is a toss up with suspension looming. Shall I say shoe in for the playoffs? This is a young experienced team with proven talent. An upgrade at RB may be needed if TRich doesn't pan out. Gordon is an obvious issue but could turn out to be a great asset. Injury is always a concern but most of these players have been primarily healthy. Drafting in the 5th round makes his options a bit limited. Smart draft picks will be needed to preserve a strong performance. But if you think about it, this team is young enough to last for seasons to come. I predict this team will be a force to be reckon with all season. Repeat championship? Hoyer Horses....

Hoyer Horses


The best team on paper. We have reached the formerly Bag of Weeden, now known as Hoyer Horses. Clever name. Last season this team went 11-6. They have re-tooled and kept their core via draft and trade. They go into this season with Manning, JCharles, LMcCoy, DThomas, Jeffery and Patterson. This team has the best of both worlds Young and Talented but Veteran Experience. I could see them walking well running through the teams in the league. They have a top 10 draft pick as well so expect them to just add to the mixture. Their team has very little questions besides injury and well that's it barring injury every player should put up numbers. We shall see what bag of.... I mean Hoyer Horses does this year.

24 in 30. Run N Gun

Make or Break season.


We have reached the Run N Gun of the Traders. They recently have made a trade to add draft picks but lost out on Bell and Nelson. Last year they were 12-5. The reason I touch on the trade is prior to the 24 in 30 this team was on pace to be elite. So in no way am I downgrading or diminishing what they have done, I have doubts now. Just one guys opinion. They carry over Manning, Morris, Ball, JThomas, Allen and Patterson. This team has potential to do work in the traders and by no means am I saying they are not a treat but I can see them as a bye week franchise come playoffs.....that's all

24 for 30. Road Warriors

March 21st, 1985. AP's Birthday. 30 in March.


You can guess it, we have reached the Road Warriors of Idlers. Last season the Warriors then known as the Steel City Curtain, Gladiators or who knows went 11-6. The team has since made moves, moves that make the tides turn. A hurricane of trades has given them an opportunity to re-core but still stay competitive. They go into this season with RG3, AP, Ellington, DJax, Cal John, Allen and TSmith. They have the possibility of snagging the orange barrels of the draft, an under construction era. 4 first round picks give them a chance to solidify the next 5+ years. But that's all great but it still is fantasy and the gods don't take lightly to this team. They consistently will carry over the best team but still cant reach Everest.

24 in 30. Wolverines

Living the dream on Auto-Pick

The Wolverines of the Traders is our next 24 in 30 franchise. Last season this team was 9-8 but over the years has been able to add solid talent via drafting and free agent signings. The team has yet to trade with anyone in the Traders Conference. That means nothing to this team, they go into this season holding on to Stafford, Tate, Murray, Marshall, Cameron, Jeffery, Jones and Cobb. Their core is young and talented. They can look for a playoff berth barring any major injuries. I couldn't imagine any trades for this squad in the near future but you never know. Only thing they are able to upgrade in would be running backs but I'm sure hell draft a 9th round 220 point running back. Ha

Annihilation Nation!

The next team in the line up is the Annihilators of the Idlers. This team put up a 9-8 record in a tough division. They will go into this season with Kaep, Bernard, Morris, AJ Green, AJohnson, Crabtree, Nelson and Gordon. This a tough line up. Will have a better season this year as far as their record goes in my eyes.

My take in the boondocks rsmp trade boondocks will benefit most. As for the beast mode and Run n Gun. Might have to give the nod to Beast Mode. Bell will most likely play the majority of the season I would think. Nelson with a healthy Rodgers is easy money. Beast Mode took a step up for this season but let's not get crazy with only talking about them. run N Gun still a tough match up for anyone in the Traders.
